About Relax Right

For the past 12 years I have been listening to my patients complain about the pillow they sleep on. I found myself recommending different memory foam and orthopedic pillows over the years, and yet, I still heard complaints. Some of my patients had as many as 10 different pillows (some costing more than $100) and they were still experiencing neck pain!

Clearly there was a need for a better pillow…the need for comfort and correctness in one affordable product. My relentless obsession began. Through my experience of anatomy, biomechanics of the spine and treatment of thousands of cases of neck pain with all of the different medical pillows available on the market, I decided to design an orthopedic pillow to meet all of the above criteria.

After more closely examining the many pillows on the market, it became apparent that none correctly and comfortably accommodate both side sleeping and back sleeping. The spine should remain straight while side sleeping and there should be a natural curve (lordotic curve) in the neck while back sleeping. I found that a lot of patients did not like to sleep on memory foam because it gets to warm and firms up when cool. Memory foam is also very heavy and very expensive.

Numerous prototypes were made over a three-year period using newer materials/concepts and using patients as guinea pigs. The result is the Relax Right Pillow. Finally a very comfortable, affordable pillow that supports the normal alignment of the spine while both side and back sleeping!
